A ship named Sussex

Hi All

Can anyone clue me in on a ship (transport?) named the Sussex? All I know is that from one source it carried troops from Alexandria in Egypt to Lemnos Island prior to the landings at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915.

This Channel ferry does not seem to tie in with the Egypt-Gallipoli run in the OP.

That's not my fault. It's the only info I and Dave have found. Perhaps the OP has not got the correct name? I am sure it would be mentioned on the net if it had been sunk as this one is.

Try a different county, the S.S. "Suffolk" certainly did what the OP states.

The list here looks fairly comprehensive and also includes Suffolk but not Sussex.

I know you didn't, I should have put an exclamation mark!

But it does seem that it is the only 'Sussex' Listed and the OP could have given incorrect name.
