It hadn't occurred to me that I might be able to trace my great uncle's three posthumous medals - any ideas how I can start?

Lieutenant Ivan Vesey Townsend of the East Lancs KIA 3rd February 1915 aged 20 near La Bassée. His medals were applied for by his father in November 1919 but the family has no trace.

Just had a look at his medal card on Ancestry, and he went to the Western Front in November 1914, and so qualified for the 1914 Star, not the 14-15 Star.

Thanks Sean. Just joined but had to do so under the alias of being a medal collector or researcher or something because for some reason they wouldn't accept "Looking for family medals"! Maybe i can straighten it out once they contact me!
