Tom Tulloch-Marshall Posted 29 May , 2014 Share Posted 29 May , 2014 Could anybody give me an image from 36.a which includes squares R.22 and R.28 and the area immediately round them ? - Ideal date would be Aug-Sept 1915 (From the note I've been given this should be close to Vielle Chapelle). JimSmithson Posted 29 May , 2014 Share Posted 29 May , 2014 Hi Tom Unless Croonaert comes along with his superb collection of early maps the best I can do is an October 17 one for you of the 2 squares from Linesman. It is the earliest in that package and I am unsure as to whether there will ever have been an actual trench map made of the area from 1915. Tom Tulloch-Marshall Posted 29 May , 2014 Author Share Posted 29 May , 2014 Thanks Jim. What I'm looking for is any sign of a cemetery in those two squares - I have two contradictory map refs from 1920 and know that there were burials there in 1915. The cemetery was exhumed in 1923.
