mcassell Posted 26 May , 2014 Share Posted 26 May , 2014 Does any one know of a good source for a large scale map showing the position of the Brown Line behind the 66th and 24th Divisions on 21 March 1918?
Colin W Taylor Posted 26 May , 2014 Share Posted 26 May , 2014 Gunner Parr There's a reasonable map in the official histories map packs for 1918. Sadly I only have the disc version so can't take screenshots or copies. Alternatively there'll likely be some good maps in the 24th and 66th Divisional GS war diaries - the former division's diaries are available to download from the national archives. You may strike gold. Kind regards Colin
mcassell Posted 28 May , 2014 Author Share Posted 28 May , 2014 Thanks for the tip, Colin. Unfortunately, the 24 Division GS diary Jan-June 1918 is missing the entries for March and early April. There is mention of a narrative but I can't trace it. Any further info?? gp
Terry_Reeves Posted 28 May , 2014 Share Posted 28 May , 2014 gp Try XIX Corps, to which both divisions belonged. XIX Corps maps for the period are at TNA: http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/SearchUI/s/res?_q=XIX+Corps+AND+WO TR
