flers1916 Posted 21 May , 2014 Share Posted 21 May , 2014 Can anyone help please identify where my grandfather earned his D.C.M. He was L/Cpl Percy Tatton, 165946 'N' Corps Signal Company RE allotted to XIII Army Corps. His citation in London Gazette 21 Oct 1918 "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This man while employed as a lineman with a listening set in the front line trenches has always successfully maintained and repaired the loops and earth lines, although frequently cut by shell fire. By keeping his listening set in order he has obtained valuable information." I assume he was listening in to German communications? Medal card states: 165946 'N' Corps Sig Co RE L/CPL P.Tatton DCM LG 3-6-1918 Page D127 - 40." Any help will be appreciated.

IPT Posted 21 May , 2014 Share Posted 21 May , 2014 Does the original LG date of 3/6/1918 indicate that it was a King's birthday honours award?
