William Wallace Roby

This is a hell of a long shot but here goes. Looking for 'any' information on this man who survived the war.He was related to Albert Wallace Roby. The Roby family were wealthy Industrialists the 1881 census has a John Roby described as Brass Founder & Brick Maker,living at Roby Brow.

William Wallace Roby died 23.1.46. lived at 20 Eshe-Road North, Great Crosby, Lancs. Died Royal Inf. L'pool 3. Probate 28.6.46 to widow Mary Adelaide Roby, John Baldwin Roby,brass founder and Albert Roby Jones. Doctor. Effects £19356. 3s. 8d.

John Roby & Co made brass fittings for ships at Rainhill Liverpool. He could have been exempt from service if his job was considered to be of value to the war effort.
