Brainybri Posted 15 April , 2014 Share Posted 15 April , 2014 My grandfather told me that he had trained (Somerset Light Infantry) in Oswestry andPrestatyn (1917 to 1918). Would the Prestatyn camp be Kimmel Camp...or were there other training camps near Prestatyn? He never made it to France because the armistice was signed, so he said, just as he was about to embark. Scalyback Posted 16 April , 2014 Share Posted 16 April , 2014 Seperate camps. Kimmel has a lot of history as you know. The camp for prestatyn, i will get back to you. It is ringing a bell in my head, can't think why. I lived for a while on the top of the high street.
