Remembered Today:

French & German Star

In my box of medals and badges acquired since being a mere lad, I today found this little medal with the words French and German Star. It has a red white and blue ribbon but little to indicate what it is for, possibly some advertising trippery for cornflakes or something?? Would like to know if anyone knows what it is??Sorry for the quality of the photo but had difficulty getting a good focus as it is small.

It was awarded for service in France, Belgium, Holland and Germany between 6 June 1944 and 8 May 1945.

From the picture, it looks like a miniature, rather than the full size medal; as worn in mess kit and evening dress.

The full size one looks like this.
