Hi

picked this up on the battlefield today and wonder if anyone can identify it from the marks on it, a bullet which appears to be .303 or perhaps 7.92 in calibre with the following on the base of the actual head of the round:

ECP

R

307

many thanks

Mutley

It is a Lebel manufactured ECP - Ecole Centrale de Pyrotechnie, de Bourges.

It is the bullet from a French 8 x 50Rmm Lebel round.

It was made at the Ecole Centrale de Pyrotechnie de Bourges (ECP) with metal supplied by Rugles, Usine de Trefilerie et Laminoires du Havre ( R ) in the third quarter of 1907 (3 07).
