Guest jeffersj Posted 18 March , 2014 Share Posted 18 March , 2014 Hello - a newbie on this forum so forgive me if this topic has been raised before. Preston Remembers is a project supported by volunteers in the Preston area (as it was in 1914) with the aim of identifying, cataloguing, researching and recording on the War Memorials on-line web site all of the WMs in the area. I have been allocated areas in Longridge, Dutton, Ribchester and Whittingham and am therefore seeking any information at all which may assist the project. War Memorials On-line is a public access web site and information recorded there will be amalgamated to the National Inventory at a later date. The second phase of the project is to research the names recorded. Regards Jeffersj
shirlgwil Posted 22 March , 2014 Share Posted 22 March , 2014 Well done on HLF funding. We are looking for help. We wish to gather in as many WW1 photos of Royal Welsh Fusiliers as possible. We would like to save as many as we can in our Museum for posterity. Also wish to commemorate the Fallen by showing their names, a little info and a photograph of each man on the day he fell. We are appealing for help in getting photos and in getting our message out around the country that we are looking. Would you keep us in mind when you are researching your project? Our email is rwfmuseum1@btconnect.com Thanks so much Shirley Williams Museum Education Officer RWF Museum
