Hi Can anyone please tell me what I A Q would mean on the shell casing of a 18 pr. The date on the base is 11 1 17.

I know what the other marking are but not this one, could it be a manufacturers stamp, if so does anyone know which one?

Thanks for help in advance.

What are the rest of the markings? Is the case Canadian?

If so it is three letter code that appears on Canadian cases but which has never been explained.

Perhaps you can post a photograph?

Cheers

It is exactly as I suspected, a Canadian case made by the Canadian Cartridge Company of Hamilton, Ontario.(The logo above the "IAQ")

Quite what these three letter groups represent is not known. It could be a lot code or something similar.
