Remembered Today:

HMS Duke of Wellington

I'm looking for a fast, reliable and reasonablly priced researcher who could look up my Gt.Gt.Grandfather's details for me down at Kew or wherever.

My knowledge of the Royal Navy is very limited and I've only found an interest in it after the discovery of my G.G.Grandad's Royal Naval LSGC medal. I know nothing about him at all and didn't even know he'd been a serviceman!

He was a Ships Corporal on HMS Duke of Wellington and went by the name of Thomas Drinkwater. (Forgot to mention this is a pre-WW1 (possibly 1860/70's) bit of research).

I've found out quite a bit about the Duke of Wellington, including photos, but it's actually him who I want to know about, not so much his ship.

Anybody know the details of anyone who might help me?

Thanks,

Dave.
