RobL Posted 1 March , 2014 Share Posted 1 March , 2014 I live fairly close to Newbury, and despite my interest in the Tanks I only became aware this evening of the existence of the Tank Testing station at Newbury. Most of the information I have found comes from here; http://www.westernfrontassociation.com/great-war-on-land/43-britain-allies/320-org-tank-corps.html Is anyone aware of any other sources ie photos for this unit? Any idea of location would be good too
Old Tom Posted 2 March , 2014 Share Posted 2 March , 2014 A 'google' brought me back to the forum. It seems the race course was used. Quite a warlike place cruise missiles in the cold war. Old Tom
Wardog Posted 3 March , 2014 Share Posted 3 March , 2014 Mention in this thread. http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=201492 Greenham Common turned back to nature now and good for a long walk-though I spent some duty time there in 1983-84 when things were different.
