Remembered Today:

Newbury Tank Testing

I live fairly close to Newbury, and despite my interest in the Tanks I only became aware this evening of the existence of the Tank Testing station at Newbury. Most of the information I have found comes from here;

Is anyone aware of any other sources ie photos for this unit? Any idea of location would be good too

A 'google' brought me back to the forum. It seems the race course was used. Quite a warlike place cruise missiles in the cold war.

This picture I believe was taken at Newbury Racecorse the photographers on the card border is J W Righton Newbury. Army Service Corps and mostly Gor Blimey Hats should date it. Also interestingly twins or very alike brothers!2zsz.jpg
