4.5 QF Howitzer Query

HERITAGE PLUS

Artillery is not my sphere of knowledge.

I would be grateful if a knowledgeable Pal could tell me what the length on the road was taken up by a 4.5m Howitzer with Horses and Ammunition.

Many Thanks

Dave

The gun is 1.63m long and from my model I estimate the limber at about the same length.

Thats the half I can answer, the team length I do not know.

Field Artillery Training for road spaces occupied by batteries in column of route.. allows 20 yards 'per carriage' . a horse artillery or field battery of 6 guns + 12 wagons 390 yards normally, up to 490, depending on how deployed ..a Heavy battery 340 yards.. if that is the sort of information is of any help
