Guest horts Posted 6 October , 2004 Share Posted 6 October , 2004 I am researching the 8th Btn South Staffs during the period 10th to 14th October 1917. They were part of 51st Brigade and 17th Northern Division in the 3rd battle of Ypres What I have so far is extracts from their war diary outlining the attack and details of casualties, 18 officers and 340 0ther ranks (1 of whom was my grandfather) They went upto the front line on zero + days from camp in Elverdinghe by way of Vulcan and Namur crossing They attacked from the railway map ref U.12.d.45 Shaap-Baile 1:100000. has anyone got this? If any member can help I would be very grateful I also have copies of South Staffs war diaries 1st to 9th Btn. If any one would like any information I would be happy to supply Andy Horton
