NOT FORGOTTEN

The above were In From the Cold Project cases and are the first to be approved under the new MoD system with the National Army Museum.

- Gnr Corfield fell from a wagon in Bedford and was run over (Volunteer: Steve John)

- Pte Crooks died post-discharge of gsw to the abdomen sustained in France (Volunteer: Stephen Nulty)

- Pte Parslow died post-discharge due to malnutrition following being PoW (Volunteer: June Underwood)

For those unaware, the United Kingdom Book of Remembrance is the temporary commemoration place for casualties who died in the UK and whose graves are known but which await CWGC inspection and completion of the formalities. Once that has been done, the casualty’s commemoration will be moved to the grave site and a CWGC stone erected if no suitable private memorial is in place.

Well done,

Good to see these men getting the respect they deserve. Hopefully, they will be the first of many omissions to be commemorated

Glen

Thanks for the link. I was aware of the project but its not something I had taken much interest in before. Having looked at the website, it will certainly be higher up on my radar in future

Keep up the good work!!

Regards

John
