2/7th Northumberland Fusiliers (Egypt)

Hi All,

Just wanted to find out if anyone has any information as to what a Garrison did when doing "garrison duty"

The 2/7th Northumberland Fusiliers arrived in Egypt on 12th Feb 1917, they proceeded to Cairo to relieve "1st Garrison Battalion Devonshire Regiment" at Kasr-el-Nil Barracks.

I have the War Diary of the 2/7 NF, but it does not explain what they actually did, so if anyone has any information I would be very grateful.

Thanks
Emma
