Seadog Posted 5 February , 2014 Share Posted 5 February , 2014 Possibly the best modern video I have ever seen, this is not broadcast quality it is far better than that. http://vimeo.com/28134870 Norman
Hywyn Posted 5 February , 2014 Share Posted 5 February , 2014 Norman Agreed. Hugh Davies is a Forum member and I'm sure that that video is on here. Hywyn
Seadog Posted 5 February , 2014 Author Share Posted 5 February , 2014 Thanks Hywyn it deserves being in this place so members are able to easily find it. The video is more poignant for me right now as a Welsh member of my party on a trip to the Somme whose father fought in this place has recently died and the last time I saw him he told me how moved he was to stand in the place where his father fought in 1916 even though a number of years had passed since his visit. His name is Dennis Smith a merchant navy seafarer and I post this image as a tribute to him, sadly his wife predeceased him. Norman
Ghazala Posted 5 February , 2014 Share Posted 5 February , 2014 That was excellent Seadog, thanks for putting it up. Mametz is always part of my annual itinerary of The Somme.
