Hi I've just been sent this email reference the centenary plans for a West Yorkshire village.

As you will be aware 3rd August 2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War One which claimed the lives of onver 16 million people and had an impact on the lives of everyone across the globe.

The Little Gomersal Community Association in partnership with Gomersal Moravian Church has been awarded a grant from the Community First Fund for a project to research the impact the War had on Gomersal.

The project will involve researching the Gomersal men who fought and died in the war and also how the war had an impact on families and industries in the Village.

The outcome of the project will be the production of a display and additional resources, which we hope will tour the Churches, Schools and public buildings in Gomersal, and will be able to be used to support activities throughout the anniversary years 2014-2018.

If you would like to be involved with the project or would like to learn more, please accept this invitation to attend the 'Gomersal and The Great War' meeting on:

Saturday, 1st February 2014 at Gomersal Moriavian Church Hall at 10am

I would be obliged if you could share this information with your congregations/parents/groups/friends etc. who may be interested in the project.
