17tankman Posted 16 January , 2014 Share Posted 16 January , 2014 I am doing some research on this particular date 23rd November 1917 Battle of Camrai. According to the Tank Bible there was an attack on Bourlon Wood by 40th Division. Included in the attack was 34 tanks - could someone tell what the Tank Battalion involved ie "B" Also on the same day 23 tanks fought over the village Fontaine-Notre-Dame. Again could someone tell me the Tank Battalions involved were. Also any other information would be greatly received on the names, numbers and officers involved. Any sites on the internet with this information? Many thanks 17tankman

Borden Battery Posted 29 November , 2019 Share Posted 29 November , 2019 (edited) Could someone provide more details regarding (1) the actions and (2) the loss of the Bally Hackle II tank commanded by Lt. Thomas Milburn Mercer at Fontaine, Cambrai, Nov 23, 1917? The tank is believed to have been B30 Bally Hackle II with King Edward's Horse and Tank Corps - 2nd Battalion. Serial Number 2874. I have since gone through some of the very good background material - and have some of the answers. Well done research.
