2li Posted 27 December , 2013 Posted 27 December , 2013 Hi and HAPPY NEW YEAR Can any one with a Cheshire regt. interest I am trying to find the days events for 24-25-26 October 1918 and what took place mainly on the 25 October was there a main engagement I am trying to find out how an officer died 2/Lieutenant James Parton Davies 7 Cheshire's any help much appriciated many thanks PHIL
John_Hartley Posted 27 December , 2013 Posted 27 December , 2013 The regimental history doesnt have much to say about these days. It notes that, on the 24th, they cleared the park of Bossuyt Chateau and made two "very gallant but unsuccessful" attempts to cross the canal (?) at locks 3 & 4. They eventually succeeded in the afternoon of the 25th, joining up with the 4th Bn.
