Iron times with the Guards

Have just flicked through this, but it looks like a cracking read? Starts of as a Territorial Force soldier, then commissioned into The Guards (i think)

Iron times with the Guards

" Occasionally a Territorial battalion would pass in the street one of the " Kitchener " units. Their respective manners were amusing, for criticism of the unsoldierly appearance on one side was met with good-humoured toleration of the "irregular" branch of the Service on the other. "

Yes, it is an interesting read. I have a copy of the original edition published in 1918. It covers the author's experiences up to and including spring 1917 and service with the 3rd Coldstream and Guards Entrenching Battalion.
