2Lt H R Gillett of the Manston War School was flying Sopwith Camel B5688 (marked 'F') when he was killed in an accident on 6 April 1918.

I hope this is useful.

"The Camel File" shows him as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant and crashing on 6 March 1918.

"Flight" of 18 April 1918 carried the announcement: Flight Sub-Lieutenant HOWARD RAYMOND GILLETT, R.N.A.S., who was killed on March 6th whilst flying in Kent, at the age of 18, was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gillett, 101, Broadhurst Gardens, N.W.6.

Yet the CWGC website shows him as 2nd Lt and his date of death as 6 April 1918?

Thanks to you both

I'll be up at the NA at some point so I'll check what they have on his file regarding his date of death
