Old Tom Posted 25 November , 2013 Share Posted 25 November , 2013 This recently published book by Jeremy Paxman does not seem to have been noticed by the forum. I am finding it to be an amusing read although it says nothing new. Old Tm.
Moonraker Posted 25 November , 2013 Share Posted 25 November , 2013 "Amusing" as in mirth-provoking or as in entertaining? Moonraker
David Ridgus Posted 25 November , 2013 Share Posted 25 November , 2013 This recently published book by Jeremy Paxman does not seem to have been noticed by the forum. I am finding it to be an amusing read although it says nothing new. Old Tm. There was a thread on 'Books for the Centenary' under the Culture pages heading which discussed inter alia Paxman's book. It was well reviewed on publication and I am looking forward to the accompanying television series. As always with popular histories I don't think Forum members are quite the intended audience but I find Paxman, the writer, as never anything less than interesting. Old Tom Posted 26 November , 2013 Author Share Posted 26 November , 2013 Moonraker, the second meaning of amusing is entertaining and it does raise a smile in a few places. David you are quite correct, however its the first of his books I have read. Prior to that, to me, he has only been a quizz presenter.
