Alan Lines Posted 22 April , 2003 Share Posted 22 April , 2003 I have a large toffee apple mortar round in my garage which is starting to rust. When purchased it had a coating of a hammerite type paint like many other WW1 relics I have seen for sale have. Does anybody know exactly what the coating is please as it needs some more. paul guthrie Posted 22 April , 2003 Share Posted 22 April , 2003 Alan, does one apply hammerite paint with a hammer?
Guest dave neale Posted 22 April , 2003 Share Posted 22 April , 2003 Only once you've confirmed the toffee apple has been deactivated !!
Alan Lines Posted 22 April , 2003 Author Share Posted 22 April , 2003 No Paul normally you use a brush (although I suspect whatever is on my item was sprayed) Having said that though I've seen some of Dave Neale's efforts at painting and I think he probably does use a hammer!!
