Local organisations including Royal British Legion, Civic Trust, Library, Town Council and Schools have met to coordinate commemorative events. The theme of Service & Remembrance has been chosen for 2014. Plans include;

Workshops to utilise internet and written records to help residents investigate relative's service.

Encouraging School pupils to 'adopt' someone who served to ensure the Field of Remembrance at our Abbey has more wooden crosses than ever.

Arranging a tour of the Western Front to follow the fortunes of 1st, 2nd & 6th Bns Wiltshire Regiment in which many locals served (prospective date 27-31 October 2014 in conjunction with Battle-Honours).

The latter item will appeal to others in Wiltshire and the more in the party the lower the cost. Anyone interested?
