Guest rouser Posted 12 November , 2013 Share Posted 12 November , 2013 Hello I am looking for information as to the location of the camp where the 11th (Reserve)Battalion, The Gloucestershire Regiment where sent for training on 8th April 1916..I have been told this was Seaford in Sussex this has particular interest for me as I spent many happy summer holidays with my parents in Seaford and Cuckmere Haven. It turns out that my grand father was posted here before being sent overseas during WW1 on the 27th August 1916 to join 9th Gloucesters on the Salonika Front. Thanks in anticipation

kenora Posted 15 November , 2013 Share Posted 15 November , 2013 My Great Uncle was at Seaford at the end 1916 and beginning 1917. He said it was right beside the cliffs with a view of the sea so I assume it was the south camp. He was in the Canadian 144th. Shane
