Thiepval Communal Cemetery

Although I've passed it on numerous of occasions I've never stopped to look at the village cemetery, what state was it in at the end of hostilities? and what restoration took place...

map posted below for those that might be interested in it's location...

It is dark and in a fairly unkempt condition as I recall? I have walked around but never entered.

Many thanks TT, I had a look on Google street view, and from what I could see it was a bit on the dark and gloomy side....

I was wondering how badly it suffered in the weeks barrage preceding the attack on July the 1st, and whether it had been re-instated to its pre-war condition...

I imagine that unless the inhabitants of Thiepval are extraordinarily healthy (or have to avoid garlic at all times) then there will have had to be considerable alteration and addition to it since then in any case.
