Hi Tony,

Looks like he's a Territorial with a 4 figure number like that, so either 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th Bn. I'll see what else I can find.

Overseas: 30/10/15.

Hi

MGC 14/15 Star roll page 1333 confirms he was 6/NF and was disembodied on 10/7/19.

Hope that helps

regards

John

Robert, you're a Prince, sah .... already ordering you a drink at the virtual bar - really appreciate your help!!!

Cheers!!

Tony

Hi Tony,

A pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord will do nicely thanks

As John has found him as 6th Bn member, then he is most likely a Newcastle lad or at least from close by

Enlisted backend of January 1914 - either 26th, 27th or 28th - no record of sickness or wounds with the 1/6th Bn prior to transfer.

Thanking you again, John - as you know, I'm a bit of a novice at all this so when I read 'disembodied' I was rather concerned ... but you'd have been proud of me - I looked it up!! All goes into that small, but increasing pot (or perhaps, saucer) of knowledge.

All the best

Tony

Hi Graham - much appreciated, I had originally thought things hadn't gone as well as that for Harry (see my reply to John). I always feel a bit guilty that the help is always one way in my regard on this forum, but hopefully the mirth occasioned by my shocking ignorance will hopefully provide some small recompense lol!!! Thanks again

Best Wishes

Tony
