Hi

Please could anyone help with any information on my relative Malcolm McCall, born Ayr 1897.

I have got some family knowledge that he could have been a pilot?

Thank you

There is a Medal Card available which could be him. It shows a Malcolm McCall as a Lieutenant, initially with the Royal Scots Fusiliers but later with the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force.

He qualified for the trio of 1914/1915 Star, British War & Victory Medal and served overseas initially on 15th November 1915 with M.E.F. and E.E.F. (Mesopotamian and Egyptian Expeditionary Forces).

Card has a home address of 28 Park Circus, Ayr, Scotland.

Steve

If it's the right man then his AIR record appears to be available to download...http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/SearchUI/s/res?_aq=Malcolm+McCall&_ep=&_or1=&_or2=&_or3=&_nq1=&_nq2=&_nq3=&_sd=&_ed=&_col=0&_sw=ref&_cr1=AIR&_cr2=&_cr3=&_ps=15&_ro=any&_rd=dd%2Fmm%2Fyyyy&_rsd=dd%2Fmm%2Fyyyy&_red=dd%2Fmm%2Fyyyy&_fr=&_st=adv

Clicking on the links should take you to a page where you can download the file for £3.36.

Regards

Steve

edit: just as John has said whilst I've been typing.....
