Hello Pierce09,

I can't provide any photographs. However, I had a look in Howard Williamson's excellent book. At page 199 he illustrates a P' 07 with hooked quillon. It has vertical markings on the pommel

4 M A N 4 6 4. He says this is for the 4th Manchester Regiment (Reserve Battalion). On page 203 he shows an Arisaka bayonet marked horizontally 9 M A N 511.

In both cases the rifle number is on a separate line, as in Tony's photo above.

Hope this is of interest to you.

Regards,

Michael H.

Good luck! It took me nearly 20 years to find a bayonet marked to the 1/4th Gordons.... but in the end I did (P1888)

I've put this scale drawing up before but it may be of interest from the point of view of Manchester Regt Markings. It is a Type 30 bayonet for the Arisaka in British Service, firstly with the 8th Manchesters and then with the Royal Marines. The Manchester serial isn't very from Tony's rifle. - SW
