Guest bonza Posted 24 September , 2004 Share Posted 24 September , 2004 Remembering today Gunner E H F Thomas. 51 Siege Battery R.G.A. One of the very very many Artillerymen killed during Third Ypres, and buried at The Huts near "Dickey Bush". Also at this cemetery are the Burgess brothers from Geelong, Australia, recorded in the "Died same day" tribute. The Huts provides a vivid illustration that the gunners were not safely tucked away behind the Front Line.
Stephen Nulty Posted 24 September , 2004 Share Posted 24 September , 2004 Bonza Yeah, just looked on CWGC and found that two thirds of the men there are gunners. But it's comforting to see that all of the 1094 burials there are identified. SN
