Ladies/Gents,

I`m trying to research a man who lived on Alcester Street. Does anyone happen to know whether Deritend in Birmingham has a war memorial? If not can anyone hazard a guess as to which memorial he might be on?

There's a large Catholic church in Alcester Street, possibly in there. Any idea if your man was Catholic?

The parish church, St John's, Deritend, was demolished many years ago but any memorial would be applicable only if the man was a regular member of that church.

Where he should be recorded is in the WW1 Book of Remembrance displayed in the Hall of Memory, at the corner of Broad Street and Easy Row, a page of which is turned every day.

The soldier I`m researching was called Leslie William COLDICOTT. I know he lived at 170 Alcester Street in 1911. But I can`t seem to find him on the B`ham RoH. So I was hoping that he might appear on the local war memorial.
