The Story of Barnbow

This is the story of the No1 National Shell Filling Factory at Barnboe Crossgates Leeds from the beginning in August 1915 to November 1919. Included ia a Staff list of all Departmental Heads and the Roll of Honour of the people killed in the three explosions.

It's not a bad book, it has some useful (and staggering) figures re: shell production and the amount of resources used at the site.

I think Barnbow is due a reappraisal and deserves a new publication.

Barnbow also featured on the Ian Hislop "Not Forgotten" series on C4, where they were erecting a memorial nearby to those killed in the explosions.
