David Filsell Posted 30 August , 2013 Share Posted 30 August , 2013 Can anyone help fill a gap in my knowledge - reference books - and advise the division or divisions to which the List Regiment (16th Bavarian Reserve Infantry Regiment in which Adolph Hitler served between 1914 and 1918? Admin spof Posted 30 August , 2013 Admin Share Posted 30 August , 2013 They were in the 6th Basvarian Reserve Division for the whole war. There is a brief summary of the Division on page 138 in "Histories of two hundred and fifty-one divisions of the German army which participated in the war" and a regimental history is available for 10 euros here
WhiteStarLine Posted 30 August , 2013 Share Posted 30 August , 2013 Yes, they were with the 6th Bavarian Reserve Division. By April 1915 the List Regiment had lost 2 commanders (including List) and almost all its original officers and 2/3rd its NCOs and volunteers were killed, wounded or taken prisoner.
