Hello All;

I am seeking assistance into the death of a Canadian Infantryman as follows;

243521 Arnold. K. Greenwood

24th Battalion Canadian Infantry

Arnold is recorded as being killed on 6th November 1917.

I am seeking assistance about the action that the 24th Battalion was involved in on that date and the level of casualties which they sustained. Additionally, could someone advise me about the following information which is contained on Arnolds 'Casualty Form - Active Service';

24. 5. 17 2 CIB. D. Reinnfmt ex 23rd. B

11.6.17 " " " " Left join 24th. Cdn. Bn

15.6.17 24 C Bn. Joined 24th. Cdn. Bn

Gerry,

I don't know if you have found his Circumstances of Death card:

"Previously reported Missing now Killed in Action"

"During operations in the vicinity of Passchendaele an enemy shell exploded in the trench near him, burying him in the debris. When dug out, it was found that there were no wounds on the body and death had resulted apparently from the concussion or from suffocation."
