RobL Posted 22 August , 2013 Share Posted 22 August , 2013 This is Kerr Stuart 'Wren' Class locomotive 3114, built in 1918 for the Ministry of Munitions and worked at an arms dump in Driffield during the war. It has been restored by the Phyllis Rampton Trust and is seen here at Devil's Bridge Station on the Vale of Rheidol railway, offering driver experience for just £5 to restore one of the Vale of Rheidol locomotives - with me at the regulator! http://rheidolrailway.co.uk/
Lancashire Fusilier Posted 22 August , 2013 Share Posted 22 August , 2013 RobL, What a great little locomotive, and I am sure a lot of fun. Here is a link with lots of interesting information on the ' Wren ' Class :- http://www.irsociety.co.uk/Archives/5+6/KS_Wren.htm The link contains some excellent photographs and drawings including this 1959 abandoned ' Wren ', which thankfully, was fully restored. RobL Posted 22 August , 2013 Author Share Posted 22 August , 2013 It certainly was, and rather addictive, too! The one you've linked to is the same locomotive, it was further backdated to its original 1918 condition in the past few years
