micks Posted 26 July , 2013 Posted 26 July , 2013 Hi all I,m researching the 5th Cavalry Brigade at Arras during April 1917 and require a map of the following location. Ronville via the Cavalry Track to the Harp. Any help would be appreciated. Micks
Wendy Macpherson Posted 27 July , 2013 Posted 27 July , 2013 Micks I have sent you a PM I have here two full size trench maps of Arras, date 1916, they both show the village of Ronville. One has a large number of named trenches, I haven't sat down and located Cavalry Track or the Harp, but no doubt they will be there somewhere. Another member might have a 1917 map tho. I will email if you require them. Wendy
fritz Posted 27 July , 2013 Posted 27 July , 2013 Hi Micks, if this one is of interest (showing German trenches on April 9th 1917) I can scan a better copy for you. Regards Fritz
micks Posted 28 July , 2013 Author Posted 28 July , 2013 Wendy and Fritz Thanks for your response The Harp was a set of German trenches in N 1 and 7 which were captured on the 9th of April. The most direct route from Ronville to The Harp and probably the Cavalry Track is through G 34. a to M 5.d. I suspect it went by a number of other names which would explain why I can,t locate it on the map that I have. All the best Micks
fritz Posted 28 July , 2013 Posted 28 July , 2013 Hi Micks, this is another view of the Harp. Fritz Here it is.
micks Posted 28 July , 2013 Author Posted 28 July , 2013 Fritz Thanks once again for your help. Micks
