Does anyone know of any memorials / rolls of honour to employees of the White Star Line? The man I am reseaching was born in Liverpool, but enlisted in London, and was probably connected with both offices:

Rifleman DAVID LAZENBY

7511, 1st/21st Bn., London Regt (First Surrey Rifles)

who died on 15 September 1916

Hi Kate

The White Star Line merged with Cunard on May 10th, 1934, and became known from that point forward as the Cunard White Star Line.

Check out > http://www.titanic-titanic.com/cunard%20wh...%20merger.shtml

It might be worth searching for Cunard related sites, or contacting Cunard themselves.

That is all I can add.

Regards

Richard

Cunard Records are at the University of Liverpool Archives.

At present "the web pages for the Cunard archive will not be online

for the forseeable future. We also regret that we are unable to provide

an email enquiry service."

see: http://sca.lib.liv.ac.uk/collections/archive/home.htm

I suppose personal research would be O.K.

Kath.

Guest Ian Bowbrick

Peter Duckers wrote an interesting article 3 or so years ago on Survivors of the Crew of the Titanic speculating that some may have been awarded the Merchantile Marine War Medal in WW1, which included a full list of survivors - David Lazenby is unfortunately not amongst them.
