Can anyone tell me which company of the royal berkshire regiment John Brett was in when he was Kia in salonika.i think my great grandfather was injured in the same attack; over 200 OR were injured or killed during the day of the 24 April . He has his company mentioned on the CWGC headstone whilst others don't .

I have looked at the regiment dairies but to no avail

Kind regards,

Nick

Have you tried reading John CHAPMANS book 'Friends and Enemies' the story of the 7th Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment in the 1st WW. The acton is covered well, but does not give what Companies solders were in. There may be other clues in there that might assist your quest. The book is available from the Regimental Museum on www.thewardrobe.org.uk Hope that helps a bit

Cheers

Cheers mac,

I have the book in question and both John and cornelius nobles get a mention( cornelius even a picture). However it doesn't distinguish casualties by company . Does anyone know if it would held in an individuals service record before I spend £30 requesting it for Brett.
