Khaki Posted 9 June , 2013 Share Posted 9 June , 2013 I am aware of the proposed 'Gallipoli Medal', and also the 'bars' that were proposed for the War Medal, but were there other campaign medals proposed that failed to be approved? FZ1 Posted 11 June , 2013 Share Posted 11 June , 2013 Howard Williamson's "Companion" book shows the design submitted by the King for the 1914 star, but not aware of any others. Many of the medals (e.g. DFC, AFC and the memorial plaque) were design competitions, so there may be records of the designs that were not selected but I'm not sure where you'd find them.
