Kate Wills Posted 1 September , 2004 Share Posted 1 September , 2004 The CD on this month's issue of Practical Family History contains scans of part 204 of The Great War edited by Wilson and Hammerton. This part is entitled The Sway of Battle in the Air, and includes features on RNAS; kite balloons; US aerial warfare preparations; night flying and the creation of the Air ministry. The front cover illustration is of 2/Lt APF Rhys Davids DSO MC. It costs £2.80, and the CD also includes an 1890 North Yorkshire directory. Guest Ian Bowbrick Posted 2 September , 2004 Share Posted 2 September , 2004 Thanks Kate sounds like a good buy for £2-80.
HERITAGE PLUS Posted 12 September , 2004 Share Posted 12 September , 2004 Yes a good buy. The magazine itself has articles on The Green Howards Museum, Records of the Indian Navy and a detailed Roll of Honour of those who died in the Shangani Patrol's last stand in against the Matabele in 1893 in present day Zimbabwe.
