schooner Posted 28 April , 2013 Share Posted 28 April , 2013 Good evening ladies and gents, I have a question that may possibly be a bit silly but I'll ask it nonetheless. I've seen lots of footage and photos of Australian troops in the First World War, and some wear slouch hats, some wear service caps, and sometimes it's a mixture of the two. Can anyone tell me why this is so?
CGM Posted 28 April , 2013 Share Posted 28 April , 2013 Hi! Not a silly question.... I have a photograph of my Grandfather wearing a service cap while training in Melbourne and wearing a slouch hat when he was in England because of an injury. He was issued with both. THIS THREAD has some more information. CGM
