Guest Posted 9 September , 2004 Share Posted 9 September , 2004 Can any body help me as Iam seeking imphomation on a ship that my grandfather was suppose to of served on the name was MARLEY does this exist or Not and what was it??? all i know he was a Firebrigade member ...All I know also was that he was an North Irish man with his first name Robert and last name Cooke as I can read R.M.N. RNCVR Posted 9 September , 2004 Share Posted 9 September , 2004 Timm, I think the his rate was FIREMAN & the initials on the medal are FMN, then his name R. COOKE. The silver medal is the WWI British War Medal & the brass one is the Victory medal. There might be letters after his name - perhaps MFA?? I am thinking he would have been a Mercantile Marine rating as that rate was used in the MFM. Cannot help you on the Marley tho, unable to open the attachment you enclosed.
