Could one of our resident MG experts confirm the identity of these MGs please.

The top one appears to be on a fabricated mount or is this an "official' variant?

Apologies for the quality they are extracted from very small images.

TIA

Chris

Both are German MG 08s. First on trench mount made officially and at local level. Second on standard sled mount.

Thanks. These are apparently captured examples as the men around them are all French. I just wanted to check I wasn't making a silly mistake with the ID

Thanks

Chris
