Old Tom Posted 18 April , 2013 Share Posted 18 April , 2013 Do you mean gun or howitzer? There were 6" guns and hows. Their appearance very different. Old GTom

Old GTom Hello, I mean indeed Howitzer. It were the Howitzers of 147,190 and 351 SB (part of 43 HAG) that were positioned beginning January till April 1918 on the area near Zillebeke Lake, were we live now. CharlieBris Posted 22 April , 2013 Share Posted 22 April , 2013 I used to believe the 30cwt howitzer was out of service by the end of 1917 - but - a photo turned up on the Landships forum of captured British guns after the German counter-attack at Cambrai. Among the 26cwt howitzers there were 3 30cwt howitzers so not all of them had been retired at the end of 1917. Regards, Charlie ps. If you look at the bottom of each article on the Landships website there is a direct link URL - the site uses a lot of dynamically loaded AJAX pages so the URLs are determined out on the fly.
