hmsk212 Posted 8 September , 2004 Share Posted 8 September , 2004 Hi Terry, I have a man buried in Berlin South-Western Cemetery, he is 127371 Private William Stewart Cook of the Machine Gun Corps. He died on 02/07/1918. My question is :- According to the CWGC Site Berlin SW Cemetery had an influx in 1924-1925 of burials from about 140 different burial grounds from Eastern Germany, Do records exist as to which burial came from which outlying burial ground? If these records do exist it may help me to trace in which Prisoner of War Camp Private Cook was held when he died. Steve
Terry Denham Posted 8 September , 2004 Share Posted 8 September , 2004 Steve The answer is - possibly or possibly not! These men were moved by the army and not all records have survived. All you can do is email CWGC and ask. Be prepared for a wait as this sort of query has to be fitted around their daily work and involves rummaging through piles of original paperwork. Good luck!
