TonyE Posted 8 April , 2013 Share Posted 8 April , 2013 A couple of pictures of today's activities. The more observant of you will note the lack of a belt in the Vickers. By the time somebody took a picture of me we had used up all the ammo! The third picture is a tad off-topic! Regards TonyE More.. more...

Guest exuser1 Posted 8 April , 2013 Share Posted 8 April , 2013 Had a crack a few years ago on a live firing MG42 , I remember the quote from a number of books that the 42 fired so quick it sounded like calico being torn ? well last thing after firing the thing to me it sounded like was a pice of material being ripped . TonyE Posted 9 April , 2013 Author Share Posted 9 April , 2013 Exactly what part of the Vickers mechanism do you batter with the copper/hide mallet? The cocking handle of course when you get a particularly obstinate jam! It is much more likely to damage the hammer ! Cheers TonyE
Staffsyeoman Posted 9 April , 2013 Share Posted 9 April , 2013 Sitting on a chair to fire a Vickers. What a lightweight. Where was your ammo made, Tony? Great job on 'Coast' too, I thought.
TonyE Posted 9 April , 2013 Author Share Posted 9 April , 2013 Ammo was a bit of a mix. Most was 1950s British military (GB and RG) and some was modern HXP or Privi Partizan. The military were paying anyway! Regards TonyE
