Guest Posted 7 April , 2013 Share Posted 7 April , 2013 Hi, I have this insignia that I cannot find, so breaking down and asking for any help with it. It is the symbol in my profile picture. I found this marking on a pair of 1918ish Zeiss Binoculars and their leather case, but all searches to ID it have resulted in a sore brain. Is there a good online resource I could search thru or does anyone recognize it? Thanks for any help.
asanewt Posted 7 April , 2013 Share Posted 7 April , 2013 Looks very similar to British Government Property "broad arrow" applied to indicate ownership. A really ancient practice.

Totally agree, your Binos were Brish Military issue Zane, type "British Army broad arrow mark" into Google images and you'll see it was put on everything. Guest Posted 7 April , 2013 Share Posted 7 April , 2013 Thanks a bunch, figures it's on everything and I cannot find it Off to google. edit, no luck finding any family ties to the British Army so I guess this is not a family item, possibly a spoil of war grab. But still no way to tie it to the family if it was. Boo
