patje70 Posted 1 April , 2013 Share Posted 1 April , 2013 I don't know if there was already a topic about this , but I want to know the main differences between a glenngarry from The First World War and one from The Second World War. I know there is a lot of knowledge on the forum so shoot the answers, preferable with pics, so I can compare with another. Pat
pbrydon Posted 1 April , 2013 Share Posted 1 April , 2013 I think this has been the subject of a previous thread. P.B.
mark holden Posted 1 April , 2013 Share Posted 1 April , 2013 Pat, A start point is that WW1 Glengarry GENERALLY had a leather band, although this is not uniquely the case. Also look for internal WD Stamp number over letter and that should help get you started. There are some examples on 'Allied and Axis' dealer website which are WW1. I have no connection with this dealer. Also check out this French Website which has excellent examples of WW1 Glengarry. http://lagrandeguerre.cultureforum.net/t11135-les-glengarry regards Mark
